Positive Geometry

mini workshop @ TUM

A mini-workshop at the TU München organised by Bernd Sturmfels on the theme of Positve Geometry.

  • Date: 23.01.2023, 16:00 - 18:00
  • Type: Workshop
  • Location: TU München

Abstract

There are strong indications from physics at both infinitesimal and cosmic distances that our current understanding of the laws of nature is only approximate, and must be replaced by deeper principles. Novel geometric objects, in the setting of amplituhedra and Feynman integrals, hint at new mathematical structures. Combinatorics and algebraic geometry have been connected to particle physics and cosmology in an entirely unexpected way. This seminar is an invitation to join the discussion.
